Holiday Appetizer Recipe and a Giveaway

SHARE THIS PAGE:

You may remember that we’re pretty crazy about Pepperelly, a delectable pepper glaze and spread. We talked about this scrumptious product in a previous blog post. We like to use Pepperelly as a main ingredient in a super easy and festive appetizer. We are going to tell you how to make it and we are giving away two jars of Pepperelly to a lucky winner!

Pepperelly Appetizer

Ingredients:

Recipe:

  1. Cut a chunk of cream cheese and place it on a sheet of saran wrap and place another sheet of saran wrap on top.
  2. Flatten the cream cheese to your preferred thickness.
  3. Use a holiday shaped cookie cutter and press onto the cream cheese to create a festive mold. We used a snowman cookie cutter.
  4. Remove the saran wrap and scoop away the excess cream cheese from the design with a knife or small spatula.
  5. Flip the cream cheese mold (Snowman) onto a serving plate and pour some Pepperelly on top of the mold.
  6. Serve with crackers or slices of a toasted baguette.

TIP: You can substitute cream cheese with goat cheese, or use hummus.

For those of you who have an artistic ability you can create your own design by hand. Use a toothpick to draw your initial sketch. We mixed some cream cheese and Pepperelly together and then sculpted this Christmas tree using a knife and a spatula.

If I had a mold, I might shape my cream cheese…but I have to say that cream cheese topped with something like this wouldn’t last long at my family party so I probably wouldn’t bother shaping it. I know, I know, we eat with our eyes first…

My favorite holiday appetizer is either cream cheese with jalapeno jelly or a crock pot jalapeno popper dip. It’s hard to choose.

I would make a traditional julbock (Scandanavian Yule goat).

My favorite appetizer is the child-friendly (I have 3 young grandchildren) pigs-in-a-blanket made with croissant dough & mini sausages.

i like to use Pepperelly in a savory tart. Spread a good amount on the bottom, top with a relatively mild cheese, add some bacon pieces, a little more cheese, and diced fresh tomatoes, bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, delicious!!!!

I’d press an herbed cream cheese mixture into a star mold, then “float” that in a sea of Pepperelly!

I think a star would be pretty. It would give several edges for getting the cream cheese and glaze onto your cracker!
